New Bed - It's an Instant Hit
I got the ferrets and the kitties a new bed when I was at the pet store picking up food for Emma today. I had a suspicion they would like it and it was 65% off - win win.

Friday Follies
Things around here have been busy. My brother is here from out of town and my parents are up visiting so its been jam packed. My parents have their dog Quincy here - Emma loves it. Winston hates it. He is not a Quincy fan and he is funny - he won't let Quincy get anywhere near Emma. She is HIS dog. For the most part we keep them separated because we don't want any fighting.
Winston is well - he is being a little pink turd - trying to show all our guests that he is boss. For the most part he has been spending time outside or in his area. I have been trying to spend more time with him one on one throughout the day. He has snacked on drywall a time or two - good thing I have become the expert spackler.
Kitties are all doing well. Oliver is making us a bit crazy - he wails at the door to the critter area - he wants us to come and spend time with him - all of our time. Phoebe, Aggie and Zoey are all doing well. I moved one of the twin beds into the critter room and the cats are really enjoying it. The ferrets too...
Speaking of the ferrets - everyone is happy and healthy and active. The boys were quite rambunctious the morning playing ferret wrestlemania in my office. The girls are all doing well. Tabby has been much more affectionate and wanting human interaction since Harlow passed away. All in all - our ferret gang is doing really fantastic.
That's about it from here....

Inclement Weather = Bored Piglet
So - we are having inclement weather here - extended inclement weather which is a giant pain in the rump.
By inclement I mean rainy - and today actually pretty cold - in the 50s. This means the following - sleepy ferrets and kitties, a dog on the verge of a nervous breakdown, a bored piglet and a somewhat unmotivated zookeeper.
It's kinda funny to think that Winston was a sub division piglet who hardly ever went outside just a couple of months ago. Now that he has room to roam he does not have any love for being stuck inside. Sadly Winston was up very early this morning. I put him out to go potty and he quickly did his business and wanted back in - he hates the rain. While he was waiting for breakfast time to roll around he decided to have a little snack of drywall...geez. Luckily I have become quite savvy at spackling and painting. Then breakfast - then trips outside between downpours. Then some time in the bedroom with Emma and I which ended in carpet biting and getting sent to his bed. Sigh. So - around 4:00 there was a break in the rain. I threw on a sweatshirt, grabbed a handful of cookies and made the piglet go down to the mailbox with me. I think he had mixed feelings about this.
He was happy to be outside and doing something, and happy to have cookies. He was not happy it was sprinkling on him and he was really not happy with big gusts of wind blew big drops of rain out of the trees on him. He made it about 3/4 of the way to the mailbox before he stopped and cussed me out while I went the rest of the way. Then we turned around and headed back - strategically avoiding the mushroom bloom that occurred in the front yard because of all the rain. Fortunately he did all his business while we were out and about so I know he is comfy while he is stuck in his room....
Once inside I gave him half of his dinner - I thought I would break it into two meals so he would have something to do later tonight. Poor guy.
He has actually been pretty good for being cooped up....not sure how he will do with the 3 additional days of rain we have in the forecast.
