Web Cam - Elephant Cam - Smithsonian National Zoo

They have set up another awesome web cam at the Smithsonian National Zoo.  In addition to watching baby panda Bao Bao and sometimes catching a glimpse of the baby lions on the lion cams now you can watch the three new elephants that recently arrived from the Calgary Zoo.

These babies have to stay in quarantine for 30 days to make sure they are ship shape to be introduced to the rest of the herd.  I love watching these intelligent creatures.  You should give it a look sometime:

You can read more about these three lovely ladies here:

Web Cam - Phoenix Zoo - Black Footed Ferret cam

I have featured the black footed ferret cam at the Phoenix Zoo previously - but if you aren't watching - now you have a great reason to:  baby black footed ferrets:

I captured this screenshot - you can just make out the tiny baby - it looks like a packing peanut close to mom's back foot:

It's fascinating to watch them together - you should really check them out:

ZooCam - Jordan Lake Eagle Cam

Okay - its not actually technically a ZooCam but it is pretty cool.  The local lake here has quite the eagle habitat and they have a camera on one of the nests.  I believe the hatch occurred yesterday and now you can watch the baby grow and the mama take care of it via the web cam:

Last year on my birthday we went on a boat tour of the area - here are some snaps of that:

ZooCams Page

Have you checked out the ZooCams Page on the blog?  It has links to all the zoo cams I have featured on the blog all in one spot.

For some reason Amirah's webcam has been down for a while.  I just saw that the Cheetah cam has been turned off as well - the mama and babies have been moved to the zoo to go on exhibit.  I will miss seeing those little one's.

I am totally enjoying watching baby Bao Bao as she explores the outdoors.  Stay tuned to the blog as each month I will feature a new zoo cam and will continue to update the list.  Do you have suggestions for one's I should add??

ZooCam - Vancouver Aquarium Jelly Cam

In it's concept - the aquarium to me is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places on the planet.  Watching beautiful and graceful sea creatures float by is just mesmerizing.  Once you add a zillion humans, SUV sized baby strollers, screaming children, etc to the mix - its not nearly so peaceful.  But - I have found a little piece of tranquility heaven - the Vancouver Aquarium Jelly Fish cam.

Jellyfish are fascinating to me - strange and beautiful creatures devoid of any human physical characteristics. This camera is focused on Japanese Sea Nettles.

The Vancouver Aquarium also has other great cameras - Beluga Whales, Penguins and Sea Otters...you should definitely check them out....

ZooCam - Atlanta Zoo Panda Cam

Did you know the Atlanta Zoo has a panda cam as well as the National Zoo?  Even better - they have twin panda cubs - its a 2 for 1!!

Mei Lun and Mei Huan were born on July 15, 2013 and are absolutely adorable.  They are the first set of twins born in the US since 1987!

If you can peel yourself away from the panda cuteness on the camera - further down the page are fantastic panda updates from the zoo keepers.  This zoocam is most definitely worth checking out!
