Think I could get the hubs to agree to this????

How about this for the next addition to the zoo??

I am guessing this would get a resounding NO - but think of the fun he and Clooney would have.....

Pretty Phoebe

She is such an unusually marked kitty and is so pretty that I can't resist a post dedicated to just her:

Oliver's Nap Spot

In the afternoons the sun pours through the windows in the kitchen and pretty much every day Oliver takes advantage of that and snoozes on the chairs filled with the sunlight.  Here are some cute shots of the ham boy I took a few days ago:

Who Knew?? Lynx Point Siamese

Zoey is at least part Marmalade Lynx Point Siamese.  I ran across an interesting article the other day:

The Lynx Point Siamese cat is one of the variations of Siamese cat, and its name comes from the fact that is has markings that are similar to those on a wild lynx.

These cats are sometimes known as Tabby Point Siamese cats, and like all other variations of Siamese cats they are beautiful, elegant, striking, and distinctive looking animals.
Like other Siamese cats the Lynx point will definitely have its airs and graces about it, but not in a spoilt or annoying way – these cats are born drama queens, and you will very quickly come to realise that they are actually just as special and precious as they clearly already know they are! These cats are graceful, intelligent, and beautiful, and they clearly know it!

The Lynx Point's Appearance
It is the distinctive markings of the Lynx Point that gives it its name, and these cats look like a cross between a tabby cat and a lynx in terms of markings, but have the structural similarities and physique of a Siamese, making them very distinctive and quite striking in terms of appearance.
These cats have pale bodies, but their points have bold tabby markings, which are in one of the Siamese point colours. They have stripes that are well defined around their nose, cheeks, and eyes, and their whisker pads are spotted. They also have a clearly defined M shaped marking on the forehead. The tail has rings of colour that run all the way up, and the legs also have well defined striping.

What Is The Lynx Point's Personality Like?
The Lynx Point, like other Siamese cats, has a vibrant personality and bags of character, making them a delight to live with (unless you are keen to have a very quiet or aloof cat that is seen more than it is heard!). These cats are very friendly, and their sociable personality means that they get along with pretty much everyone that gives them the time of day, including other family pets.
They are, like their Siamese cousins, quite vocal and talkative, so you can enjoy spending many an hour trying to work out what your cat is trying to tell you as he chats away – although the chances are he will make it quite clear what he wants and will keep on 'talking' until he gets it! These cats are very entertaining and lively, and will enjoy poking their nose into pretty much everything, as they have the same curious nature as all Siamese.

Can You Live With a Lynx Point Siamese Cat?
With any pet it is important to determine whether you have the time, commitment, and right environment to offer before you commit yourself, and the same is true of the Lynx Point. Like other Siamese cats the Lynx Point Siamese cat does demand a lot of attention and devotion, and will not hesitate to return it. However, if you do not have time to spend with your pet, and there are no other family members that will be able to devote the time and attention that these cats need, then you may find that this is not the right pet for you.
You should also expect to have a house full of life and character once your bundle of fun comes along, as the Lynx Point likes to have fun, be active, nose around, talk (in cat speak of course), and entertain. If you are considering a Lynx Point it is worth investing in some cat furniture so that your cat can play, otherwise you may end up investing in new furniture instead!

Aggie's Perfect Pillow

Aggie likes to lay on the pillows on our bed - there is one pillow in particular that she loves and she spends lots of time getting into the perfect position for sleeping.  She does not, however appreciate it when Zoey gets up there with her and squishes all the stuffing out of its perfect position.  Once Zoey departs its back to moving the stuffing around to the perfect spot once again....

My Sleeping Baby

It's rare to get a shot of Nigel sleeping as he usually stirs pretty quickly once I disturb his blankets:

He is so cute when he sleeps - may favorite is when he is all sprawled out with his tail and his legs sticking out.    I guess when he sleeps like that it makes me think he feels safe and secure.  I think he dreams - sometimes he puffs up all his spikes when he is sound asleep - not sure why else he would do this.  He sleeps a lot and is not really a huge fan of lights.  I wake him lots over the course of the day checking in on him to make sure he is warm enough and doing okay.  He sleeps when I hold him as well - love this....

Can you tell he is my sweet baby boy?

"Pet Peeves" 6th edition

Entering and exiting our house can be quite challenging at times.  Between Emma - the just a little neurotic dog who is unable to exit normally and yanking your arm off with the leash as you take her outside; Oliver - the former outdoor kitty who thinks he wants to escape but once he gets outside he freaks at the slightest noise; Zoey - the make way I am coming through so I can lay on the porch and sun myself; and Clooney - the I really want to see what is on the other side of the door but once I get out there I want in because its too hot critters - its sometimes like herding cats (literally) to get out the door.

We installed the screen door thinking it might help corral the masses - I haven't decided if its a help or a hindrance yet.  Entering is not nearly as bad as exiting....
