The Audience

After work today I did some outside chores...I had quite the audience.  I left the screen door open and while I worked there were 4 kitties, 1 dog and 2 ferrets checking out the happenings in the front yard.

They love the screen door.  Most of them are pretty good about not going out the screen door - with the exception of 2 critters.  First - Miss Madison is the worst - she will blaze through the door if given any opportunity.  Also opportunistic is Mr Kitty.  If you leave it open for too long Ollie will slip out the door.  UGH.

The other kitties are pretty good, Emma doesn't go through unless she's told its okay and Nigel just doesn't have much opportunity to go out the door as he is usually sleeping when most of the door opening is happening.

It does crack me up when they all sit there at the door watching.

Present Stompers

My critters are present stompers...ugh.  It's mainly the kitties since the ferrets and the hedgehog fit behind the presents and in between the presents.  Usually I leave a path for the kitties to get to the space under the tree that doesn't have gifts but this year the way the furniture is arranged there is no space under the tree that is not stuffed with presents so that is just out.

They poke holes with their feet, make scratchy rips with their back claws, pull off bows, lay on and flatten bows....they are in general destructive little present squishers.

Gurgle Gurgle...

Poor Emma - she has the worst tummy.  She always has - every since she was a puppy.  This morning she woke up with the tell tale signs of  stomach upset - noisy gurgling.  She is laying here on the bed with noises galore.

I am not sure what causes said issues.  She is a tiny bit neurotic - don't tell her I said so - so I supposed her upset could be stress induced.  We keep her on a pretty tight diet of dog food and occasionally she steals some cat food but that shouldn't cause upset.  I am not sure what it is but we will make a trip outside to determine if we can get her some relief.

On those days that its really really bad I make up some rice and chicken - she loves that and the rice really seems to settle her belly.

I hope she feels better soon....

The Tub Deck is Fair Game

The ferrets and occasionally the kitties think the tub deck is fair game.  Any bottles, towels, nail clippers, razors, etc - they get knocked over, knocked off, knocked into the tub, etc.  You cannot leave any soap anywhere the ferrets can reach or they will lick lick lick it.

Not sure what the excitement of knocking stuff off is - maybe its the giant thunk.  Maybe its the occasional score of the giant splash when what they push over lands in the water bowl --- that is a cause for major excitement.  One time - only once - a roll of TP was left on the side of the tub - it landed in the water dish and sucked up all the water.  The the ferrets proceeded to shred it - wet toilet paper all over the bathroom - oh goody.

Its the little things in life right?  I guess this applies to the critters as well.....

It's December!!!

Woohoo - its December.  I love this time of year!  Even though this month is notoriously chaotic I still love the holidays!

Critters are enjoying the holidays as well - they love playing in the packages, dragging the stuff out of the boxes, bags and envelopes and playing under the tree.  Phoebe and Madison are my wrapping helpers.

Today is filled with chores - which the critters are always helping with and we have a birthday party.  Tomorrow we start the holiday show viewing and dinner with friends.  I continue to make progress on getting gifts made and wrapped.  Lots to do still.

I was looking for a critter themed tree topper - I found a dog that I really liked - metal - very cool - no longer available.  Of course.  I couldn't find one so that might go on my list for craft projects for next year's critter tree.  This year I settled for a snowman.  He is cute but definitely not exactly what I wanted.

So that's about it for this exciting Saturday!
