Things I Have Learned about the Critters this Week....

I am always learning new things about the critters....here is what I can come up with for this week:

Emma - she is too smart for her own good and has started to equate her thunder shirt to thunder.  This week we have put it on at random times so she doesn't stress

Zoey - the cat is truly afraid of nothing or no one.  Security system guy came - she was all up in his business - was not deterred by drilling, vacuuming or loud security system related noises

Phoebe - she loves when you tuck your feet under her when she sleeps on the bed - she is happy to be the foot warmer and if you wiggle she has fun attacking your toes

Clooney - he is sad at my progress in organizing the office room - he likes the chaos - finds new places to tunnel and sleep - and the worst part - I found the sacred cow hiding place - he quickly relocated it to under the couch in the man cave

Agatha - the cat who is so picky about what people food she will eat - like tofu - ick - even I am not a fan.....

Nigel - he likes Pad Thai - pretty sure that is not a part of the standard hedgehog diet.  Also - he is very funny about playing on our bed - he likes to stay on his blankets and he seems to love it when I spread them out so they cover the bed - he had a blast playing last night

Oliver - the naughty spot (the downstairs bathroom) is actually not punishment for him - I put him in time out and opened the door to find him happily snoozing and purring on the fluffy toilet seat cover

The critters love when I change the bed.  Its a weekly ritual.  You have seen the video of Clooney helping with the actual changing of the bed - here are some snaps of the critters enjoying the fresh clean bedding....

Monday Morning Blues

Ugh - Monday already.....how can this be?  Its like the critters know too.  Hubs gets up and out early.  Clooney is the one most engaged in his getting ready for work.  He stands outside the shower door and plays on the bed hoping to get a pet or a wrestle from his dad before he leaves.  He plays in the laptop bag while all the necessities of work get loaded up.

For me - I wake up at the same time but I have a different kind of morning.  I do all my tech stuff - blogs, email, Facebook, etc.  Then I check on the littlest critter.  This morning I happened to hear him run run running on his wheel around 5:45 so I know he is okay.  Then downstairs to do critter care - treats, Clooney's supplement, food, water, scoop boxes and take Emma out.

Now that we have the screen door I will turn off the air and let the children hang out in their new favorite spot....

So wishing it was still the weekend with lazy mornings and no obligations - I wonder if the critters feel the same.....

Screen Door

If you have read the blog you know that the critters love playing on the porch.  This is okay - sometimes way too hot and you have to keep a very close eye on Oliver the escaper.  So - I decided to install a screen door.  If I would have known the happiness this would bring to my critters I would have done it years ago.

They love it - lay in front of the door for hours on end - the only challenge is that annoying sale people know I am home which stinks.  Right now, as I type they are hanging out in the front entry - Clooney, Aggie, Ollie and Zoey - loving watching the world go by.....

Wake Up Call

Well - here it is - 8:36 on a Saturday morning....why am I up so early writing on the blog?  One word - Oliver.  He wants me to be up so he first starts with a visit in the bedroom and uses his howling meow.  Nothing.....

Up onto the bed, howl, nothing.  Stand on the mommy and meow, nothing.  Lick the arm that is sticking out of the covers - arm goes under covers.....now we are getting somewhere.

Lick/lovebite nose - aha - she's awake!!!

Get told to go away - lick the daddy's arm.

Move in for cuddles - purr LOUDLY.

Woohoo - she is up!

Sigh.....

And the most annoying part about this - now that I am up - he is nowhere to be found....

Who is the most easy going?  Probably Zoey
Who is the most stressed out?  Emma on rainy days, Aggie on furniture rearrange days
Who is the most work to take care of?  Tie between Nigel and Clooney
Who loves each other the most?  Phoebe and Ollie or Ollie and Clooney or Zoey and Aggie
Who sleeps the most?  Nigel or Zoey
Who begs the most?  Three way tie - Emma, Ollie and Clooney
Who plays the most?  Phoebe
Who talks the most?  Emma barks a ton - ugh and Phoebe talks the most
Who is the most stinky?  Phoebe - hands down
Who is the most aloof?  Aggie

Hit By A Bus Series - Post 4

Oh my sweet Emma doggie.  She is such a good dog but she does have some neurotic tendencies.

• She has to be on a leash outside - she will run off.
• She is terrified of both thunder and fireworks - she does have her thundershirt but still not anxiety free.
• She scratches at the carpet - ugh - so annoying.
• She hates getting bathed and nails cut but I try to do this once a month.

Emma is a very non demanding dog.  We get up in the morning - go out around 10ish to go potty.  She free feeds on Iams Lamb and Rice dog food.  She gets a couple of treats each day.  She loves to go on walks and to go for play dates at doggie daycare at Town and Country.  She needs to have her bordatella, heartworm and fecal up to date at all times so she has the ability to go to socialize.

She loves to get rubbed on her tummy and in her armpits.  She is very sweet and loving and should be treated with a soft hand as she is very sensitive.
