Structure and Schedules
So - after travelling last week and returning to my little ones it becomes clear to me that they are very structure and schedule oriented beasts.
My little Nigel was so happy to move out of the big play pen and back into his cage. I find this interesting as he had everything from his cage with him in the big pen. He didn't use his wheel at all - not sure why this happens. Last night he slept in his cage with clean blankets and he ran and ran on his wheel - what a happy boy.
Clooney was very happy to have us home - he wanted lots of loves and cuddles. We were in the house for about 10 minutes and opened up the second story - first thing he did was to relocate the sacred cow - it was locked in the bedroom and has now been moved to the craft room.
The kitties have their own ways of showing that they are happy we are home - or that they are angry we were gone. Oliver takes the ornery routine - knocking stuff off tables letting us know he didn't appreciate our absence. Zoey wants to be with you - so she follows you into every room. Aggie heads up and loudly lets you know that she is there and wants pets. And Phoebe - who I think struggled with having a pet sitter as she is so shy spent last night laying on me for the duration of the night - today she seems a bit less clingy.
Emma - she is happy to be picked up from the kennel - she probably does the worst when it comes to change and having her routine uprooted. She is not a particularly exuberant dog but you can tell while she is sprawled out totally relaxed and sleeping soundly.
They like what they are used too - I like our schedule and routine too. I am very happy to be home with them - I missed them bunches.
