Emma had her turn at the vet today. She was due for much of her routine stuff - physical, distemper, bordetella, etc and she has a lump on her back the last week got big and this week is small again. I wanted to get it checked out.
She did well - she is not a fan of the exam but she is cooperative. Dr. B checked her over. Eyes, ears, nose look healthy - teeth could use some work - we will start brushing. In regards to the lump we opted for a needle biopsy just to be safe. He looked at it under the microscope and determined that it is just a cyst - nothing to worry about and something we can have removed at a later time if it continues to get bigger or starts to bother her. Great news!
Due to her age we will likely start her on a joint supplement to try to be proactive in combating any deterioration. We also refilled her Trifexsis heartworm/flea medication. So - now Ollie and Emma are all caught up and healthy. Little critter go at the end of the month. Then we will Aggie, Zoey and Phoebe to get in during the July/August timeframe. Then we pause for a year - whew!
