Vet Visits

Well - Nigel has a snotty nose and Phoebe has a lump - so I decided to go in for an appointment and get them both checked over.  Nigel was due for his bi-annual physical anyway so the timing was okay.

Phoebe is a shy kitty, she doesn't care for the carrier, the car or strangers.  Let's just say this wasn't the best morning for her.  She actually did pretty well once we got there.  The dr performed a physical and bottom line she is a very healthy kitty - eyes, ears, teeth, coat, abdomen - everything looks great.  They did an annual blood panel - no results yet.  They did a fecal - everything there looks good.  Then he checked out the lump.  My guess is that its a lipoma - a fatty deposit under the skin.  She has had it for about 3 or 4 weeks - no change in size and some days its completely gone.  We decided to do a needle biopsy just to be on the safe side.  I am trying not to stress while I wait.  She also got caught up on any vaccinations that she needed so she should be all set.  Just hoping for good results on Friday or Monday....

Nigel was a complete ham while we were there.  Running around and playing and letting them do pretty much whatever they wanted to.  It was when he crawled all over me while I was talking to the vet that he mentioned that it did not appear that Nigel was sick.  :)  So I am going to watch his snotty nose for the next few days and if it worsens I should call.  I think its the temperature changes - heater to AC to heater that is making his nose run.  All in all his physical went great as well.  He is still 1 pound, eyes, ears, skin, spikes all healthy.
