House Finch Move In

I bought a fern a few weeks back - I never buy ferns because I am terrible at keeping them alive.  So far so good - but I discovered a nest when I watered today - a new house finch family has moved in.  The regular visiting house finches have their nest in the creeping fig over the garage this year.  The wrens who were in the flower arrangement have seemed to move on to new places and the house finches are pretty far along with building a new home.

I love having the birds on the porch - I will be watering carefully! Pics of nest, eggs and babies to come.....
