It's my secret goal to go to every zoo and aquarium in the US. My poor husband - so not his favorite activity - but he is always a good sport. He suggested that I start a series on the blog about all the zoos and aquariums we have visited since we met so here goes......
There are 355ish zoos in the US and 50ish aquariums. Not sure of the best way to tackle this - maybe by state:
California - I have been to several zoos and aquariums in California - I lived there for several years and visited many times as a child. None of these, however, were with the hubs - so they do not qualify for review on this series.
Colorado - been to these zoos a zillion times - never with the hubs - ugh.
Florida - geez - finally something to report here. We recently went to the Central Florida Zoo as well as the Florida Aquarium in Tampa
Georgia - we love the Georgia Aquarium and have been several times
Hawaii - we have been to Kauai but no zoos or aquariums - I think that's reason enough to return to Hawaii immediately
Louisiana - YES - thank goodness! The Audubon Zoo and the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans
Maryland - Baltimore Aquarium
New York - YES - lots - Bronx Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queen's Zoo, NY Aquarium
North Carolina - yep - the NC Zoo, Fort Fisher Aquarium, Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium, Manteo Aquarium, Greensboro Science Center
South Carolina - SC Aquarium
Tennessee - yep - TN Aquarium
Virginia - Richmond Metro Zoo
Washington - Woodland Park Zoo, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium
As you can see - we have some work to do. Over time we will review and share pictures of where we have been.
