Emma's New "Shoes"

As you have read in many past posts....Miss Emma loves to scratch on the carpet.  UGH - so annoying and not so great for the carpet either.  We did a pet store run the other day and decided to try out some dog booties to see if it might slow the scratching.  If nothing else perhaps it would save the carpet....

We purchased these:

We only put them on her front paws so a package could last us a bit.  We tried to make a big deal of putting her shoes on.  She is somewhat of a fashionista who loves to get her bandanna changed each week so we thought maybe she would think her shoes were cool.  It takes to people to put them on - one to hold her par and the other to put the boot on.  We will likely only use these at night and we won't leave them on her when we are not at home - just in case one comes off - she could chew it up making it a choking hazard.  I am looking forward to seeing how they work at night - maybe the humans in the household can have a scratch free sleep....

She seems okay having them on - she walked a bit funny at first but she doesn't seem all that interested in them - she isn't trying to pull them off at all.  We will see how the scratching goes - I will report back.....
