Hubby's Ultimate Sacrifice - African Lion Safari

In my crazy bucket list goal of going to all the zoos and aquariums in the US and Canada - my poor husband gets dragged to view the critters....lots of critters.  On this vacation we went to African Lion Safari located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

This is kind of a funky place but its very cool.  It's concept is to cage the visitor in the car and let the animals roam free in different reserves.  They have quite a large number of animals on the 1000+ acres.  I love that this is a family owned park.

If you are going to drive your own car through you have to give consent that you understand the critters can do damage and its at your own risk.  You also have the option to ride the tour bus through the reserves.  We opted for driving and didn't have any issues.

The baboon section is hilarious - they like cars with luggage racks and when you drive through they hop on for a ride...

I can honestly say I have never been to a place where you have to stop to let a rhino cross in front of your car.  It's pretty cool to have the animals roam free around you:

If you are ever up this way I would recommend this place - its a unique way to see the wildlife!
