Welcome to the zoo - Theo

Yep - we've grown the zoo one more time.  This will most definitely be our last one for the foreseeable future but we couldn't let this little guy hang out in his enclosure at the pet store by himself for any longer.  So - welcome to our little menagerie Theo.  We thought perhaps he was the last of the bunch that came in Finn and Violet's litter -- the pet store could not definitively tell us for sure but regardless - if they weren't litter mates they may as well have been.  It took about 10 minutes for Theo and Maddie to become friends.  Finn was a bit afraid but after a few hours the two of them were wrestling and playing.  Miss Violet who wants to be the alpha ferret is just fine with this new little guy.  They haven't really started playing quite yet but the spend lots of time checking each other out and there has not be even one squabble.  Clooney tried to squabble but Theo took it to mean Clooney wanted to play which put a damper on fighting so Clooney just walked away.

Kitties could care less - Phoebe and Theo have been playing tag, Oliver bathed him last night, Aggie and Zoey avoid him just like they do the other ferrets.  Nigel was probably the most huffy about his arrival but even he got over it pretty quick.

This ferret is obsessed with the dog - Emma doesn't know quite what to make of it.  This morning Theo was biting her toes and chasing Emma around - Emma was running through the house with Theo close behind - tail wagging and happy barks here and there.  He is much more interested in the dog than the other ferrets have been.

I have to say this has been pretty much a non event from the critter's perspective - they have accepted him and he has made himself right at home.  He is a happy little dude - squeaking and playing lots during the day. He is VERY active and therefore hard to get a good picture of - I will keep working on that but for now here are a few snaps:
