I heard back from the vet's office yesterday on Emma's liver numbers. While she is not quite in the normal range yet - her numbers are coming down. The ALT number went from 297 a month ago to 212. Her GGT number was elevated and now is normal. She is still well above the reference range - need to get that ALT number to 107 or less - but we are at least heading in the right direction.
So - the vet offered 2 options - continue the Denamarin for another month or do an ultrasound to take a look at the physical structures of the liver. I have opted to continue the Denamarin as it seems to be working. We will check her again at the end of January and see what her numbers look like then.
She seems to be feeling just great and is enjoying time with her cousins (my brother's dogs). Fingers crossed - if we do the same reduction amount this month as last her counts should be 127 or there about - that would be great and pretty close to the 107 range...
